Rufugio Nunez 74, of Munday passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 24, 2024. He was born April 12, 1949 to Santos and Eulalia (Perez) Nunez. He and Juana Guerra were married Dec. 1, 1968. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rhineland.

Carolyn Welch, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 3p.m. at Baptist St.

Charles W. Kirschner (Charlie), 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 8, 2024. Funeral services were held at Covenant United Methodist Church in Austin, Saturday, March 2, 2024. Charles was born Dec. 21, 1944, to W.C. and Marjorie Kirschner. He graduated from Munday High School in 1962 and the University of Texas (Austin) in 1966 (computer science). Charles served in the army during the Vietnam War.

A graveside service was held at the Rochester Cemetery, Deacon Mike Hernandez officiated under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rochester. Rosary was held at St. George Catholic Church in Haskell, Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024.
